Biometric Software for the Mobile Work Force

TSI – Is a privately owned US company based in Maryland.

This is what the US Government has to say about TSI and Crypto-Sign:

"The qualifications of the key personnel are excellent."

"The soundness, technical merit and innovation of the proposed approach are rated as excellent."

Features and Benefits

Platform Interoperability
Crypto-Sign® is designed to be portable and has been successfully ported to various operating systems. The Crypto-Sign design and development team has extensive experience with both PC and embedded software development environments. Currently, Crypto-Sign is available for Windows 2000, Pocket PC, and can be easily adapted to H/PC Pro and Palm-size PC systems.

Industry Standard Interface
Crypto-Sign® has been developed keeping Industry Standard Interfaces and Microsoft Corporation’s standardization initiatives in view. Crypto-Sign will be provided with support for the BioAPI (BioApi Specifications 1.1). This will allow seamless integration of Crypto-Sign into any application that supports these standards.

Extensibility – The Crypto-Sign® Software Development Kit
Plans are already underway for releasing a Crypto-Sign Software Development Kit (SDK). The Crypto-Sign SDK will allow developers of other applications to use the published and provided Application Programming Interface (API) to seamlessly integrate this ground breaking technology into their application thereby providing highly secure application and infrastructure environment. The multi-level security scheme comprising of a network logon followed by a Crypto-Sign authentication scheme to either start the application or authorize transactions will provide enterprises with an easy and affordable way to secure their data, environment, and processes.

"Ink on Paper"
Using the system to release an author’s electronic signature to the document also gives it the distinct advantage of an "ink on paper" look. The system can work in conjunction with PKI based digital signature technology to overcome the major security disadvantage of that technology which essentially relies upon passwords to identify the user. It also adds the user-friendliness of an "ink on paper" signature image to electronic documents.

Standard Plug-ins
Initially Crypto-Sign® Plug-ins will be available for Adobe Acrobat, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. These plug-ins will enable the users to incorporate their authentic signatures in pdf, notes mail, Outlook mail, Word documents and Excel spreadsheets giving them proof of authorship with an "ink-on-paper" look and making them secure and tamper-proof.

Dedicated Crypto-Sign® Enterprise Authentication
Dedicated Crypto-Sign® Servers can be used in large enterprises to provide authentication for specialized and/or selected devices. These devices could include PDA’s, Personal Computers with digitizers and Palm Size Personal Computers. Software for client/server communication is provided, and at each client site a digitizing tablet or a PDA is required. The user provides sample enrollment signatures at the time of registration, creating a biometric template that is stored in an Operating System file on a secured Crypto-Sign server. During use, to confirm the user's identity, the encrypted data from a subsequently written signature is compared, at the server, with the secured template. Future releases of Crypto-Sign® will include the ability to store this information on Microsoft SQL Server providing yet another layer of security, reliability, and scalability.

About the Inventor

Rod Beatson, the inventor of Crypto-Sign® has spent many years in the biometric and signature verification arena. He has had tremendous success in the retail POS arena where there are now hundreds of thousands of devices saving millions of dollars by capturing billions of credit card based electronic signatures annually. He was also the founder chairman of the early International Biometric Association’s Standards Committee, which produced the first Accredited ANSI Standard on Biometric Industry Terminology And Definitions. A member of the BioAPI consortium and the INCITS M1 Biometric Technical Committee, he has authored patents in the field of electronic signatures, published numerous papers, testified on Capitol Hill and acted in an Expert Witness capacity on the subject.

Biometric Performance is a key area of product differentiation and Mr. Beatson’s pre-Crypto-Sign signature verification algorithms have been positively evaluated by Sandia National Laboratories and compare favorably with better-known biometric systems such as fingerprint, facial recognition and voice recognition. With the added secrecy afforded by Crypto-Sign the FAR/FRR performance will be significantly enhanced above this level.
